Ordinary Members of the network are institutions based in Austria, whose tasks include the scientific examination of topics related to security and disaster research and who themselves carry out security and disaster research in the sense of DCNA. Associate members are institutions that are interested in the activities of DCNA but do not conduct scientific research themselves.

Strategic partnerships
Strategic partnerships are entered into with ministries, regional authorities and international institutions and serve to further anchor common goals.
Climate Change Centre Austria
The CCCA is the network for climate research in Austria. The CCCA is the contact for climate change issues in Austria, network agent and mouthpiece for climate research. The CCCA networks internally (members) and externally (stakeholders). The CCCA offers target group-specific communication and services. Information about the CCCA can be found here.
Disaster Risk Management Knowledge Centre
Given the risk of increasingly serious and frequent natural and man-made disasters, decision-makers and risk managers in disaster risk management (DRM) and in all EU policy areas are increasingly relying on existing knowledge at all levels – local, national, European and global – and in all phases of the DRM cycle: prevention – reduction – readiness – recovery. All information about the DRMKC can be found here.
Global Alliance of Disaster Research Institutes
GADRI is a forum for sharing knowledge and promoting cooperation on issues related to disaster risk reduction and disaster resilience. It is a network of networks based on organizational values for the reduction of disaster risk. You can find all the information here.
we4DRR
we4DRR is an international network that is coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management and is aimed at women who work in research, politics and practice. You can find all the information here.
UNDRR
UNDRR (formerly UNISDR) is the United Nations focal point for disaster risk reduction. UNDRR oversees the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, supporting countries in its implementation, monitoring and sharing what works in reducing existing risk and preventing the creation of new risk. You can find all the information here.
Österreichische Gesellschaft für Schnee und Lawinen
The purpose of the independent association AASA is the interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge and the advancement of teaching, development, training and application in the field of applied snow and avalanche research and related areas. Learn more about AASA here.
CERIS
CERIS (Community for European Research and Innovation for Security) was established in 2014 by the European Commission and has since gathered around 1,500 registered stakeholders (policy makers, end-users, academia, industry, and civil society). The aim is to facilitate interactions within the security research community and users of research outputs. Learn more about CERIS here.
Austrian Standards
Austrian Standards is the independent and neutral Austrian organization for standardization and innovation. Together with European and international standardization partners (e.g. ISO, CEN, and ETSI), Austrian Standards connects subject-related players from business, research, administration, and NGOs. Learn more about Austrian Standards here.
Network of networks
A Network of Networks is an overarching network that connects several independent networks to exchange knowledge, resources, and expertise. This networking creates synergies that enable more effective collaboration and faster problem-solving in complex areas such as disaster management, research, and technology.
This exchange is an informal initiative of the German Committee for Disaster Preparedness (DKKV), the French Association for the Prevention of Natural and Technological Disasters (AFPCNT), the Disaster Competence Network Austria (DCNA), and the Swiss Platform for Natural Hazards (PLANAT).
To promote regular collaboration, an informal roundtable format has been established. This serves as a platform for updates from the individual countries, personal exchange, and the sharing of experiences, ideas, and knowledge in the areas of disaster preparedness, resilience, and crisis management.
