New research project on tunnel safety: CHEMATUN
DCNA is part of another KIRAS research project: CHEMATUN deals with the release of chemical substances in tunnels – a previously little-researched scenario in the field of emergency response.
Disaster Competence Network Austria (DCNA) acts as a link between scientific research and practitioners in crisis and disaster management. Through knowledge and technology transfer, findings from basic research are implemented and directed to those interested in security and disaster research in Austria and beyond.

We are pleased to present a new project: The "PostDisaster" project focuses on mixed reality post-disaster damage assessment tools for action planning. The project uses artificial intelligence, satellite images, drones, and mixed reality (MR) to optimise disaster management.
HyDroMon - a new project funded by the KIRAS programme of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance - is developing an intelligent, AI-supported monitoring system that networks and coordinates heterogeneous operational modules - including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), mobile operational teams and a deployable base station. The aim is to collect, analyze and provide mission-relevant information in real time.
