Luise Niebisch studied nutritional sciences for her bachelor's degree and then completed the international master's program "Environmental Protection and Agricultural Food Production" at the University of Hohenheim and "Rischio Ambientale e Protezione Civile" in Ancona. During her employment at the Italian "DisasterLab" she devoted herself to disaster risk minimization and focused her research on the topic of "food security". In her master's thesis she examined the effects of floods on food security in industrialized countries.

At DCNA she is involved as a research assistant in the EMBRACE and MEDLOK projects.
